About Melinda Avila-Torio
Melinda Avila-Torio is an Associate Principle and Senior Interior Designer of THW Design. Her extensive background in research and product development has added depth to THW’s Interior Design Studio where she’s involved in all the planning stages of a project, from conception of ideas to construction administration. Her experience in all aspects of Interior Design, combined with her personal interest in physical environmental design for those with Dementia, has enabled Melinda to continuously strengthen her insight with numerous senior living projects.
She is a Board-Certified Healthcare Interior Designer (CHID) through the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers, a Registered Interior Designer (RID), a Certified Aging Specialist Professional (Leading Age CASP) and Certified LEED AP (U.S. Green Building Council – USGBC). Melinda holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a Master of Science in Architecture (Product Research and Design), both from Virginia Tech. in the United States.
