TAD Extra: Personal Reflections of The Hogeweyk

4 April 2025

Episode S5E4:

This recording was our most recently issued TAD Extra, and offers the personal reflections – and context –  to a previous episode recorded in the Netherlands during a visit to The Hogeweyk. Before sitting down with co-founder, Eloy van Hal, he took us on a tour of this remarkable dementia village. This interview is really a discussion between Lori Pinkerton-Rolet and her “interviewer,” TAD Marketing Director, Valerie Adler, because we couldn’t stop talking together about that day, what we had seen and the way it had made us feel.

We wanted to share this TAD EXTRA with our wider audience and hope it will encourage those of you, who haven’t done so already, to Join Us and receive our quarterly (or so!) newsletter. It includes a TAD Extra and other resources available to those who join the TAD community. Remember, it’s free!

  • Guests: Lori Pinkerton-Rolet and Valerie Adler
  • The Hogeweyk: Normal Life for People Living with Severe Dementia
  • Be Advice – Advice and support for the creation of new dementia care models and study visits
  • Centre for Policy on Ageing – case study for integrated care and dementia in the Netherlands
  • Buro Kade – Architecture at The Hogeweyk
