About Yonas Jongkind
Yonas lived at Windsong Co-housing from 2005 to 2009, and was part of the initial group at Groundswell Co-housing from 2009-2015. He founded Vancouver Cohousing by purchasing the land.
He then went sailing with his wife and 4 children from 2016 to 2019 in Mexico and the South Pacific, returning to live at Pacific Gardens Co-Housing in Canada.
People in Vancouver had such a long waiting list for this type of community that they asked Yonas to help organize another one. That eventually led to the creation of his company – Amisto – in conjunction with some of his neighbours.
Amisto is supporting the development of Lost Lake Cohousing and Coquitlam Co-housing.
